Newly appointed and aspiring managers often face two common challenges on day one in their new role – a lack of relevant experience or training, and an employer with little in-house capacity to provide the knowledge or capabilities they need.
This was the key problem facing one multi-national blue-chip business. They wanted management development training for their talent pool of aspiring managers but did not have the time or resources to drive such a programme. That’s when the team at Bespoke Training were called in to help.
We were asked to provide a way of up-skilling aspiring managers so they got a broad understanding of, and we able to leverage, the fundamentals of management.
After objective consultation with the client team we recommended a blended learning approach as the most efficient and effective way of delivering the knowledge and capabilities the client’s aspiring managers needed. Our training solution included both online modules and two face-to-face workshops. This meant that participants could learn at their own pace whilst being able to bring the learning to life with a group of colleagues.
The blended learning approach we delivered resulted in a win-win situation, for both participant and client.
Not only have over a 100 plus aspiring managers benefited from the skills and knowledge our well-received management development training programme gave them – some have already been promoted into their first leadership roles. They also gained a widely-respected ILM management qualification that gives them an edge.
The business now benefits from a pipeline of first-line managers who have the skills they need to ultimately take the business forward. In addition, we were able to help the client in-house training team to achieve these results without losing their focus on other important projects.
